What makes a good photograph? Why do some photos succeed while others fail? I often look in awe at other photographers’ images from the places I’ve been and think, “how did they see that?”I went out into the online world in search of answers. How did they see that, and can you and I see it too?The question.I asked some my favorite photographers one question, “What is the most important element of a good photograph?”The format was completely open ended; the photographers were free to include as much or as little as they wanted. The answers. The shooting styles and photographic resumes of these photographers vary greatly, but they all have one thing in common: their work inspires me. Their photographs are beautiful to look at, they’re deeply emotive, and they drive me to become better. I highly recommend taking a look at each of their sites and following them as I do. After all, who better to learn from than the people who inspire us?Presenting the photographers and their answers:Justin Mott“I always teach my workshop students you want someone to feel something, some sort of an emotion when they look at your images. That could be curiosity, anger, sadness, happiness, etc. The most important element of a photo to me is it’s ability to evoke emotion.”
LIBRARYIt is said that a Library is the heart of any educational establishment. The Library is the major provider of high quality information resources. But how does one find one's way through that jungle of information? How does one use these resources? These are the questions that have answers. We see our school's library as a place where students learn and develop information seeking strategies.
This is the third article in Color Theory: a complete set of lessons for Art students. It is estimated that 40% of those who are color blind remain undiagnosed by the time they leave high school. Could you be color blind? What does this even mean? Are you entering a career where color choices are important? What are the implications for an artist or designer who is color blind – or for someone who is studying Art at school or college? How can designers ensure that their work is accessible for those with a vision deficiency? What modifications should be made when teaching a color blind student? Answers to these questions and more are discussed below. This color arrangement test (by Daniel Flück of Colblindor) is a version of the D-15 Farnsworth color test, which asks you arrange colors in a smooth gradation of hues. Instructions: arrange the colored squares in the correct order by picking the most similar color from the choice below and dragging them into the boxes. Start with the pilot, which is already set.
Field Trips are important to help bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience. Just look to private and charter colleges as examples, you will see that field trips are a vital requirement of their educational curriculum. It is here where public colleges lack funding and effort to have more access to providing field trips for its students.Studies published by RAFT, Resource Area for Teaching, show “Teachers who conduct hands-on learning activities on a weekly basis out-perform their peers by more than 70% of a grade level in math and 40% of a grade level in science.” I believe if we had more field trips, education would be more creative and effective in getting kids to successfully graduate high school and college. As well as preparing them to make big differences to communities and life as we know it. Field trips are crucial for every student to acquire increased knowledge, culture and hands-on experience. Hands-on experience produce questions and answers that help shape a child’s future. Here are a few thoughts that are brought up as more field trips are experienced:1. Show me how to do it, so I can be successful.2. I can see what it looks like at first glance.3. The experience is in my memory. When I need to use it as a reference it will be available4. I participated in an activity, therefore I know feel more confident about my abilities.5. Learning is fun when I get to explore and ask questions. I want to do more.6. What if I want to study and work in this field?7. I now know that my community supports me and I have access to the information.Join the Top Film college in Chennai
Media Studies Degree: What to expect?Media studies might just sound like a degree where you sit around and debate the finer points of last night’s Jersey Shore, or write papers on how the latest Judd Apatow movie rocked. But in reality, it calls for so much more. The purpose of a media studies degree is to look at the way media (including print, film, and television) affect society as a whole. It answers questions about how media influence the way people act in their personal lives and in business. Media studies majors examine topics such as how news reporting affects political opinions and how violence in movies affects how communities interact.🎯 TrainingYou can get a media studies degree from a number of universities, including art and online schools. Some schools combine this department with other fields of study, which means you can graduate with a degree in, say, communication and media studies, or film and media studies. Occasionally, schools will offer their students the opportunity to take media-making classes along with theory-based courses—for example, classes on film editing or interviewing.Classes in this major cover the gamut of media. You can spend your time in courses that focus on television news, journalism, or the movie industry. Some examples of real classes include media ethics, news media and global affairs, and the music business in media.🙌🏼 Next StepThough some consider this major to be a bit of a joke, media studies majors are actually usually considered fairly competitive in the job hunt. After you graduate, look for entry-level positions—as an Editorial Assistant, Runner, or Production Assistant, for example. To improve your chances of grabbing a job in what can be very competitive fields (journalism, movies, and TV), spend some time in an internship or an unpaid position while in school. There are master’s degrees in this field. If you hope to become a Professor or work in a higher position in the entertainment industry, a master’s can help get you where you want to be.Join the best Film college and the Top Film courses at Palme Deor Media college in Chennai and Thanjavur
